CBT
CBT stands for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and is about making changes to improve your whole life.
Cognitive in this context, stands for the thoughts and memories that you might be experiencing and then the behaviour you adopt in response to these. I will specifically focus on any distressing thoughts and memories that you have and the unhelpful behaviours that may accompany these. We then create some goals that will help us make some changes to your life.

EMDR
EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing . It is recommended for working with trauma, OCD and pain management .
It involves creating a series of bilateral eye movements by side to side tapping that allow us to recall and then process distressing memories. This processing allows the memory to become “rescripted” so it does not cause the same level of distress.

CFT
CFT stands for Compassion Focused Therapy. It is recommended as therapy to manage distress and boost self esteem and confidence.
We work together to develop the Compassionate or Soothing system which is clinically proven to help our psychological well being . We do this by using some breathing, mindfulness and imagery techniques to regulate our emotions in a helpful and calming way . Think of it as “physiotherapy for the mind”.

COUNSELLING
Person Centred Therapy is a form of counselling that focuses on self.

CLINICAL SUPERVISION
I offer clinical supervision sessions for therapists who work with any of the above therapies in both an individual or group format. This supervision will offer you support and guide you to reflect the theory behind your modality and translate that into best practice for your clients. I see supervision as a mechanism to bridge between reflection and delivery of best practice and procedural skills.
Qualification : BABCP Supervisor 2016
